Missing labrador Marley reunited with owner after being traced by police

A LABRADOR has been reunited with its owner
a week after a couple falsely claimed it was theirs. Marley, a labrador and springer spaniel cross,
escaped from The Colliery Cafe, in Willington, on Tuesday, January 18. Its owner believes the pet was picked up by
a warden who is understood to have handed it over to a couple purporting to be its owners. The police launched an investigation and today
located the micro-chipped dog who is believed to have been found in a house in Chester-le-Street. Officers reunited Marley with his real owner
this afternoon and said they are continuing their investigation into the incident. A police spokesman said: “Crook Police are
delighted to announce that Marley the golden labrador that was stolen around two weeks
ago has been returned by Crook Police to the owners. “A very happy dog returned to very happy owners.
Thank you to everyone for sharing the posts and trying to assist Police with the investigation.”
